Master of our Skies

Found this big fellow taking a sip from the local bird bath on Pine Island, Florida. Seems fresh water is the drink at this watering hole, and no one was gonna tell him no.

Lesson learned, always bring a camera on walks...no matter how short they are.

Sharing Pine Island

You don't have to be here too long to realize that though we all thrive to go to these great retirement and vacation locations, that we are merely trespassing on the natural habitat of some impressive creatures. This is a Osprey, or "Fish Eagle". The largest bird of prey in these parts, though when the Golden Eagles show up, these guys high tail it out of here until the big boys leave. They are a majestic and beautiful bird, and a far better fisherman than I.

G9 Review and Experiences - Florida

Setting off to Pine Island on the Florida - Gulf of Mexico, just below Fort Meyers for a fishing trip with a long time associate. He has a place on the island and a boat, all of which adds up to some fun in the sun and hopefully some great photo ops.

Kit: I have brought with me a Canon G9 with several Lensmate adapters attached to a Canon 2x teleconverter (TC-DC58C), a Raynox 6600 HD wide adapter, and a circular polarizer.

I am hoping to get some great shots on and off the island, and if the opportunity presents, some low light sunset pictures.

If anyone has some suggestions for examples they would like to see or features they want feedback on please post a request.
